New slipway production for high-tech ships construction will become available in St. Petersburg soon

St. Petersburg Government approved the strategic investment project status assignment to «New slipway production for High-Tech Marine Equipment construction» in St. Petersburg and the strategic investor status in St. Petersburg to LLC «Pella-Stapel».

«New slipway production for High-Tech Marine Equipment construction» project involves the modern shipbuilding complex construction to organize industrial production of high-tech marine equipment.

«Pella» OJSC completed the shipbuilding complex construction in Otradnoye, Kirovsky district and Leningrad oblast (on the border with St. Petersburg) in 2015. The project implementation on the adjacent site will provide a synergistic effect of the previously created production site and the new slipway production as well, according to Roman Golovanov, St. Petersburg Investment Committee’s Chairman.

«It’s required to update the existing shipyards production base in Russian Federation, their modernization and development», Roman Golovanov said. «The first slipway production stage, i.e. the ships assembly in a special structure, annually produces 4-5 units of ships up to 70 meters long. The second stage in the adjacent section should expand the shipbuilding complex’s capabilities - the new production will allow the high-tech marine vessels production up to 90 meters long and launch weight up to 3000 tons».

The total investment amount will be about 2,4 billion rubles. The construction completion and facilities commissioning expected date is up to January 1, 2022. The project implementation will over 200 jobs in St. Petersburg.
