SPIEF-2025 outlined new prospects for the development of the city and improving the lives of St. Petersburg residents

Today, at a meeting of the relevant investment commission of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg, under the leadership of Deputy Dmitry Panov, a discussion was held on the results of our city's participation in SPIEF 2025.

Ivan Skladchikov, Chairman of the St. Petersburg Investment Committee, spoke about new St. Petersburg infrastructure development projects planned for the near future thanks to the investment agreements signed at the Forum.

"This year, the International Economic Forum brought 1028.8 billion rubles to St. Petersburg. The Northern Capital has concluded 67 agreements, including more than 40 investment agreements. The agreements of the St. Petersburg Investment Committee have attracted almost 500 billion rubles and covered projects that will help the city grow and develop. The decisions taken at SPIEF 2025 are of particular importance for improving the quality of the urban environment and the lives of citizens," said Ivan Skladchikov.

Thus, at SPIEF 2025, prospects for the development of light-rail public transport in the southern regions of St. Petersburg have been formed. The projects planned with investors will improve the transport accessibility of the Shushary metro station for residents, as well as provide a quick route to the Technological Valley and the campuses of leading St. Petersburg universities under construction in the Pushkin district.

The new tram routes will run along Sofiyskaya Street, the Southern Latitudinal Highway, Volkhonskoye Highway, to the satellite city of Yuzhny. Also, based on the Slavyanka line under construction today, a route to the St. Petersburg State University campus and the Nevsky Delta Innovative Scientific and Technological center will be created. In the future, a rail link will be formed between Pushkin and Kolpino. Thus, the comfort of movement will increase for citizens, the travel time to the nearest metro station will be reduced. The construction of eco-friendly, modern tram lines will also increase the investment attractiveness of the southern districts of the city.

As Ivan Skladchikov noted, special attention at the Forum was paid to the development of the social sphere together with investors. As a result of the agreements reached, a polyclinic for 340 visits per shift will be built in the Frunzensky district of St. Petersburg. In Vsevolozhsky district, the investor will build a multifunctional year-round recreation and recreation complex for children with 565 visits per shift. In addition, a new shelter for animals without owners will be created in Krasnogvardeysky district - a modern complex for their temporary maintenance and veterinary services.

"The SPIEF-2025 agreements in the field of tourism and hospitality are no less significant, designed to increase the tourist attractiveness of St. Petersburg and create new points of attraction for both guests and residents of St. Petersburg," Ivan Skladchikov emphasized.

In order to develop the hospitality infrastructure, an agreement was signed with the ACADEMIA boutique hotel chain on the restoration and adaptation of cultural heritage sites with their subsequent integration into the tourism industry.

Moreover, a large-scale reconstruction project of the Northern Riviera sanatorium is planned with the investor, during which it is planned to completely upgrade all existing infrastructure facilities of the sanatorium.

Most of the agreements of the Forum, accompanied by the Investment Committee, also relate to the development of industry and innovative technologies, strengthening the potential of the high-tech complex of our city. An important outcome of SPIEF 2025 is the prospects for the development of the transport framework and the implementation of megaprojects of the 21st century, including the Latitudinal High-speed Highway, the second stage of Pulkovo Airport, and the all-season seaside resort St. Petersburg Marina.

The meeting participants expressed the unanimous opinion that the agreements signed at SPIEF 2025 and their implementation will strengthen the positions of St. Petersburg and Russia as a whole as a producer of competitive and innovative products, as well as contribute to the achievement of technological sovereignty and national development goals.
