The St. Petersburg project for the preservation of cultural heritage became the winner of the National Award INVESTFEST-2025

Experts from the National Association of Investors (NAI.RF) recognized the project of adapting Count Shuvalov's mansion at 10 Mokhovaya Street to a four-star hotel as the best in the nomination "Project in the field of preservation of historical and cultural heritage." The diploma of the winner of the INVESTFEST 2025 National Award was awarded to ACADEMIA, the company that implemented the project.
The solemn ceremony of summing up the results of the award and awarding took place in Sochi on January 27 within the framework of the International Forum INVESTFEST with the participation of the President of the National Academy of Sciences.Russian Federation, heads of regional ministries, federal development institutions, top managers of construction and investment companies, as well as the professional community of developers and developers.
During the presentation of the ACADEMIA SHUVALOFF Mansion project, the St. Petersburg company shared its successful experience in reviving a 19th-century cultural heritage site, which proves that an effective business model and architectural monuments are quite compatible.
In total, applications were submitted for the competition from 50 regions of Russia. The NAI Expert Council.The Russian Federation evaluated projects based on such parameters as innovation, uniqueness of the idea, market potential, professionalism of the team and financial stability, as well as social and environmental aspects of implementation. In all these categories, the ACADEMIA Boutique Hotel, the SHUVALOFF Mansion, was ranked among the best.
As part of the business program of the INVESTFEST 2025 forum, ACADEMIA experts also performed in the DOM partner track.Russian Federation "Building the future together: A session of investors and developers", where they shared their experience of transforming historical mansions into unique boutique hotels.
It should be noted that representatives of the famous Shuvalov family have lived in the St. Petersburg historical mansion on Mokhovaya Street since the 19th century: Count Andrey Shuvalov, his daughter Elizabeth Vorontsova-Dashkova and their descendants. Since 2024, a modern boutique hotel has been located here, which is in high demand among the guests of St. Petersburg. With careful restoration, it was possible to preserve the neoclassical interiors of the study hall, where the restaurant is now located, as well as the grand marble staircase, chandeliers, stucco decor and other historical details of the interior and exterior. The hotel is distinguished by its special concept, combining the atmosphere of the "golden age", modern engineering solutions and a high level of service.
It should be recalled that the preservation of historical and cultural heritage corresponds to the program "10 priorities for the development of St. Petersburg", as well as the instruction of the President of Russia on the restoration of cultural heritage sites and their adaptation to modern purposes.
We also add that applications for the regional competition "Conservation with Adaptation 2024-2025", which was announced last year as part of the IV Conference on the Preservation of Cultural Heritage Sites – monuments of Wooden Architecture, are being accepted until April 2025. The jury of the competition includes experts from the Investment Management Department subordinate to the Investment Committee of St. Petersburg.
