Dedicated to the feat of Soviet fighter pilots

On May 5, a photo exhibition "Aviation during the Great Patriotic War", dedicated to the most important stage in the history of Russian aviation, will open in the building of the Nevsky Town Hall on the ground floor. The event is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory and will become one of the events designed to pay tribute to the memory of the war veterans and perpetuate the feat of our people.
Unique archival materials for the organization of the photo exhibition were prepared by Pulkovo Airport.
"We are successfully cooperating with Pulkovo Airport, continuing to develop St. Petersburg Aviation Harbor through a public-private partnership mechanism. It is important that our cooperation also touched upon such a significant event — the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Thus, Pulkovo Airport contributes to preserving the memory of the most important pages of our history," said Ivan Skladchikov, Chairman of the St. Petersburg Investment Committee.
The heroes of the exhibition will be pilots, including those who repelled attacks on the "Road of Life", as well as aircraft involved in the defense of Leningrad.
"The exhibition, which tells about the feats of pilots during the Great Patriotic War, is an important component of the festive events prepared by Pulkovo Airport. The exhibition was initiated and organized by the airport staff together with students and teachers of the St. Petersburg State University of Civil Aviation named after Marshal A.A. Novikov. Special attention at the exhibition is paid to pilots whose destinies are inextricably linked with the Leningrad Front and Pulkovo Airport," said Rostislav Chernyshev, CEO of Pulkovo Airport JSC.
The exhibition will tell about the role of aviation in the victory over fascism, about the heroism, courage, and fortitude of outstanding pilots and will present projects of domestic military aircraft with their detailed characteristics.
You will be able to view the photo exhibition until May 18.
