Alexander Beglov launched the suspension of the overpass of the Slavyanka tram line over the Ring Road
On September 26, 2024, within the framework of the III International conference "Road Construction in Russia: bridges and artificial structures" an exit tour to the construction site of the Slavyanka tram line was held, timed to coincide with the start of the truss metal structure on the third level above the Ring Road.
The event was attended by the Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov, Deputy Head of the Federal Road Agency Oleg Stupnikov, Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg Nikolai Linchenko, Chairman of the Investment Committee of St. Petersburg Ivan Skladchikov, heads of road construction organizations and other participants of the Forum.
The purpose of the event was to present the progress of one of the most important projects for St. Petersburg and exchange practical experience.
"Our engineers and designers were able to implement a very difficult technical solution: during the construction of the overpass, we do not block the ring road, we do not create inconveniences for drivers. The overpass is a third higher than the standard parameters. The spans are also close to unique in their length. The Slavyanka high–speed tram project is large-scale and technologically complex. 21 kilometers, three bridges, four overpasses. This is one of our megaprojects that will change the life of the south of the city," Alexander Beglov underlined.
The structure is part of an overpass under construction at the intersection with Moskovsky Highway, Oktyabrskaya Railway and Ring Road. The superstructure, which will be located above the ring road, is over 240 meters long. The valve will be installed at a height of 10 meters.
In general, the length of the overpass, taking into account the retaining walls and the branch to Vilerovsky Lane, is about 1209 meters. The total number of supports is 25 pcs. The supports are made of high-strength frost-resistant waterproof reinforced concrete. The maximum height of the support is 12.7 meters.
Recall that in July of this year, the overpass was completed on the section above the Moscow highway.
The project to create and operate a tram line along the route "Kupchino metro station – Shushary – Slavyanka village" is being implemented within the framework of a public-private partnership. The completion dates for the first stage - from the Kupchino metro station to the village of Shushary, including the tram depot, are the 4th quarter of 2025, and for the second – to the MKR. Slavyanka – a year after the completion of the first one.
The Slavyanka tram line will improve the transport accessibility of large residential areas of Shushary and Slavyanka, as well as relieve the road network in the southern districts of the city. It is expected that at least 13 million passengers a year will use the new transport artery.
