The extension of the span of the largest overpass of the Slavyanka tram line has been completed

The builders have completed work on the extension of the superstructure of the Slavyanka tramway overpass, which runs on the third level above the ring Road and is over 240 meters long. The structure is part of a large overpass under construction that crosses three transport infrastructures - Moskovskoe Highway, Oktyabrskaya Railway and Ring Road.
In general, the length of the overpass, taking into account the retaining walls and branches to Vilerovsky Lane, is about 1209 meters. The total number of supports on which the overpass is erected is 25. Above the ring road, the superstructure is located from the 9th to the 12th support. The supports are made of high-strength frost-resistant waterproof reinforced concrete. The maximum height of the support is 12.7 meters.
The work on the overpass closure was carried out in three stages. The last, third, stage of the valve was started on the night of December 15th to 16th. The metal structure in the form of a farm "rode" 77 meters from the 11th pillar located inside the ring road to the 12th pillar erected in the village of Shushary. The rate of movement was more than 10 meters per shift. The metal structures of the superstructure above the ring road were closed at a height of 10 meters.
To ensure road safety, work was carried out at night from 00:00 to 06:00 hours with the temporary closure of the exit from the ring Road to Moskovskoe Highway in the direction of Shushar. During the daytime, along with the valve, work was carried out on the installation of galvanized steel pipes for cable sewerage under the span.
Now, after completing the critical stage of the valve, the specialists are ready to begin further construction work at the facility — dismantling the awning on support 12, dismantling the slipway at support 9. Also, before spring, it is planned to install a bolt and lower all the metal onto the supporting parts, after which a monolithic reinforced concrete slab of the roadway will be installed with the installation of a permanent formwork above CAD.
It should be recalled that the start of the valve of the truss metal structure on the third level above the Ring Road was given by the Governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, on September 26, 2024. Earlier, in July of this year, the overpass was closed on the section above the Moscow Highway.

The project to create and operate a tram line along the Kupchino metro station – Shushary – Slavyanka settlement route is being implemented as part of a public-private partnership. The completion dates for the first stage - from Kupchino metro station to Shushary village, including the tram depot – are the 4th quarter of 2025, and for the second – to the MKR. Slavyanka – one year after the completion of the first one.
The Slavyanka tram line will improve the transport accessibility of the large residential areas of Shushary and Slavyanka, as well as relieve the road network in the southern districts of the city. It is expected that at least 13 million passengers per year will use the new transport artery.
