The design documentation of the first stage of the construction of the Yuzhny satellite city has been approved

At a working meeting of the Governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, with members of the city government, a draft territory layout was agreed for the first stage of construction of the Yuzhny satellite city in the Pushkinsky district.
"There are two issues on our agenda related to the implementation of the strategic project – the construction of the Yuzhny satellite city. It is a priority investment project of the Russian Federation in the field of housing construction and a strategic investment project of St. Petersburg. Within its framework, we have already started the construction of a world–class innovation center - ITMO Highpark. Next year we plan to continue the construction of the exit to the Kiev highway. Yuzhny Satellite City and ITMO Highpark are among the largest projects of this kind in Russia," Alexander Beglov noted.
It is planned to build apartment buildings on the agreed sites. The population of the blocks can be about seven thousand people.
The new construction will be provided with all necessary social infrastructure. So, one of the projects provides for the placement of a kindergarten, a general practitioner's office, a police station, a fire station and a boiler room. On another site, it is planned to build a school, two kindergartens, a children's and adult polyclinic with an emergency department, a cultural center, a sports club, a swimming pool, and a quantarium.
In addition, under an agreement with the city, the developer is reconstructing school No. 607 of the Pushkin district with an increase in its capacity by 200 places.
Driveways will be created on all sites, landscaping will be carried out, children's and sports grounds will be equipped.
The implementation of the Yuzhny satellite city project will be carried out in stages. The reviewed documentation was prepared as part of the first stage, which includes 4 stages of construction from 2025 to 2028.
ITMO Highpark, a scientific and educational innovation center based on ITMO University, which is being formed on 86 hectares and will consist of a campus for undergraduates and graduate students and a Technology valley with a business park for technology companies, will become the city-forming element of the satellite city.
Currently, the construction of the facilities of the first stage and the design of the facilities of the second stage of the ITMO Highpark construction are underway. The main academic building and two dormitories are being built at the expense of the federal budget. At the expense of the budget of St. Petersburg, the engineering infrastructure of the first stage was built, including utilities, storm water treatment facilities. The construction of the internal road network of the first stage is being completed.
As part of the second stage, the design of the ITMO Highpark sports complex is being completed, where it is planned to place multifunctional gaming halls with stands for various sports.
The investor undertakes obligations for the design, construction and further transfer of social and engineering and transport facilities to the city.
