The day of the Investment Committee of St. Petersburg was held at the exhibition "My Petersburg"

Today, visitors to the multimedia exhibition center "Russia – My Story" learned about the main investment projects of the Northern capital. The thematic day dedicated to the infrastructural development of the city was organized by the Investment Committee of St. Petersburg together with the Administration of the Kalininsky district.

The Chairman of the Investment Committee of St. Petersburg addressed the guests of the exhibition with a welcoming speech‑St. Petersburg Ivan Skladchikov.

" Last year, St. Petersburg attracted a record volume of investments – 1.2 trillion rubles. The growth trend has strengthened: according to the results of the first half of 2024, the volume of investments in fixed assets is already 26% higher than in the same period last year. Thanks to significant investment projects, the Northern Capital not only retains its unique historical and cultural atmosphere, but also grows, develops, improves, and confidently looks to the future. Each major investment project opens a new page in the history of St. Petersburg, shaping our city as a megalopolis of the XXI century. But most importantly, each project makes an important contribution to improving the lives of St. Petersburg residents and improving the quality of the urban environment," said Ivan Skladchikov.

Investment Saint Petersburg presented its impressive achievements in recent years. The vivid video sequence reminded of those objects of transport, sports, scientific, educational, cultural and social infrastructure, without which it is impossible to imagine the life of the modern Northern capital. These include the Western High-Speed Diameter highway, the Island of Forts Museum and Historical Park, the Chizhik tram network, the SKA Arena sports and leisure complex, the New Holland public space, the Baltic Pearl multifunctional complex and many others. Visitors of the exhibition got acquainted with new flagship projects: ITMO Highpark, the St. Petersburg Marina tourist cluster – its layout is constantly placed at the exhibition.

The special exhibits of the day were unique models of cable-stayed bridges of the Central section of the Western High-speed Diameter (WSD): across the Ship and Petrovsky fairways.

Alexey Nikiforov, General Director of the Northern Capital Highway LLC, told about the operation of the highway and the construction of its new section – the Vitebsk interchange.

"We record up to 280 thousand trips on the ZSD daily. This is one of the most demanded toll highways in the country and one of the most important elements of the St. Petersburg transport system. We are confident that the development of the ZSD and the frame of high-speed highways in general will make St. Petersburg even more convenient and improve the quality of life of citizens. The Vitebsk interchange of the WSD, which is currently being created in partnership with the city, will become the first stage of the Latitudinal Highway, the largest development project in the road sector of a modern megacity," said Alexey Nikiforov.

Each guest was able to learn the details of the creation of a new tram line "Kupchino-Shushary-Slavyanka". This large-scale project is being implemented under the concession mechanism and will provide transport accessibility to large residential areas in the south of St. Petersburg, and in the future may serve as the basis for new tram routes to the Technological Valley in the Pushkin district and Pulkovo airport.

"Work is actively underway on the construction of major capital structures. The investor feels constant support from the Investment Committee of St. Petersburg. We are confident that this project will become an example of a successful public-private partnership and will contribute to the development of the city's transport infrastructure. The Slavyanka tram line will provide residents of rapidly developing areas with modern, environmentally friendly and safe transport, and most importantly, its constant accessibility," said Dmitry Pankratov, CEO of the concessionaire company.

The interactive part of the program gave the participants the opportunity to join the history of iconic St. Petersburg buildings through an educational quiz and win original souvenirs in memory of the exhibition.

The visitors also expanded their knowledge about one of the largest districts of the city in terms of the number of residents – Kalininsky. A number of socially significant projects are being implemented in this area with the participation of investors. Among them is the construction of a new perinatal center under the mechanism of public-private partnership. In addition to healthcare facilities, investors are building kindergartens and schools. By the end of the year, it is planned to open two large sports facilities – the Zenit football club complex on Vernosti St. and the sports center on Rustaveli, where you can skate, play mini-football, do choreography.

The program of the Day was completed by a concert of talented performers of the St. Petersburg State Budgetary Institution "Cultural and Leisure Center of the Kalininsky district".

Recall that the exhibition "My Petersburg" will last until October 1. She offers to take a real interactive trip around St. Petersburg and get acquainted with the best practices in all fields — education, manufacturing, science, art, medicine and others. New events take place every day in the atrium of the exhibition, which help residents to get to know their city even better.
