St. Petersburg investors are interested in working with cultural heritage sites

On February 13, Ivan Skladchikov, Chairman of the St. Petersburg Investment Committee, and Anna Isakova, Director of the St. Petersburg State Budgetary Institution Investment Management, visited Count Shuvalov's historic mansion at 10 Mokhovaya Street, where the ACADEMIA Mansion Boutique Hotel is now located. The project of adapting the cultural heritage site to modern use was successfully implemented by the investor.
During the meeting, representatives of the ACADEMIA management company told about the details of the project and demonstrated technological solutions that made it possible to create comfortable conditions for the accommodation of guests in strict compliance with the requirements of legislation in the field of preservation of cultural heritage sites. The parties also discussed the prospects for cooperation in order to increase the investment attractiveness of the city by involving unused cultural heritage sites in the turnover for the development of the St. Petersburg hotel industry.
The grand opening of the four-star hotel took place in 2024. During the restoration of the mansion, it was possible to breathe new life into the luxurious neoclassical interiors of the study hall, where the restaurant is now located, as well as preserve the grand marble staircase, chandeliers, stucco decor and other historical details of the interior and exterior. The facade of the building and its original architectural elements, as well as stucco molding and chandeliers in the interiors have been restored based on historical photographs and documents.
Experts from the National Association of Investors have recognized the St. Petersburg ACADEMIA Mansion SHUVALOFF project as one of the best in the field of historical and cultural heritage preservation.
It should be recalled that the preservation of historical heritage and the support of culture is one of the directions of the program "10 priorities for the development of St. Petersburg until 2030". Achieving the goals of this priority includes, including with the participation of investors, the full restoration and inclusion of cultural heritage sites in the social and business life of the city.
