At the second stage of the Slavyanka tram line, almost 100% of the poles of the contact network were installed.
The builders have almost completed the installation of the contact network poles on the second stage of the Slavyanka tram line — on the section from the tram depot on Novgorodsky Prospekt in the village of Shushary to the Slavyanka microdistrict.
Sections of overpasses through Vitebsk Avenue, railway tracks of the Vitebsk direction of the Oktyabrskaya Railway and the Children's Railway, as well as Toropetskaya and Severskaya streets are already fully equipped with supports. Wiring is being installed here. It is planned to complete the entire work on the contact network of the second stage by the first decade of August.
"The first stage of the Slavyanka tram line has already transported more than 2 million passengers. This is the best confirmation of the relevance of the project, one of the key projects in the urban priority of "Convenient public transport". The builders are completing the installation of the supports and the contact network itself. At the end of the year, the line will arrive in Slavyanka and will give residents of the southern districts of St. Petersburg the opportunity to quickly and comfortably travel to Kupchino metro station," said Governor Alexander Beglov.
At the second stage, the construction of the upper structure of the track is also actively underway: 100% of the work has been completed on two overpasses with a length of 86.3 and 340 meters. On Toropetskaya and Severskaya streets, the readiness of the upper structure of the track is 98-99%. The work is scheduled to be completed in early August.
Currently, 195 workers and 44 units of construction equipment are involved in the construction of the second stage of the Slavyanka tram line.
The commissioning of the second stage of the Slavyanka tram line is scheduled for December 2026.
For reference:
The Slavyanka tram line is one of Russia's largest concession projects for the creation of a new urban public transport infrastructure. The project is being implemented through a public-private partnership mechanism. The concession agreement between St. Petersburg and BaltNedvizhService LLC was signed in 2019 and is designed for 30 years (until 2049).
