Engineering infrastructure facilities of the first stage have been built in ITMO Highpark

The facilities of the engineering infrastructure of the first stage are fully ready on the territory of the ITMO Highpark innovative scientific, technological and educational center in the Pushkinsky district of St. Petersburg: water supply, sanitation, gas supply, electricity and communications networks, heating network, street and road network, storm water treatment facilities have been built.
The technological connection of the territory of the integrated project to the main engineering networks of gas or electricity supply of the first stage has been implemented.
"On behalf of the President of Russia, we are building a Scientific, educational and Innovation Center at ITMO University with a world-class campus. The first of the Technological Valleys of St. Petersburg will become an important platform for solving the task of achieving Russia's technological leadership. ITMO Highpark will give a powerful impetus to the development of the satellite city of Yuzhny and the entire south of St. Petersburg. Communications are being laid at a high pace — the city is fully fulfilling its obligations to create engineering and transport infrastructure," said Governor Alexander Beglov.
Currently, work continues on the construction of buildings of the first stage on the territory of ITMO Highpark - the total area of the facilities is 73.3 thousand square meters. meters. The fittings of the atrium space in dormitory No. 2 are fully ready, monolithic work has been completed by 92%, internal engineering networks are being laid, facade glazing has begun, plastering works are underway, interior partitions are being built.
Special attention in the project is paid to sound insulation, which will provide a comfortable environment for scientific work of undergraduates and postgraduates.
An active construction of a heat and cold supply source is underway – a building has been erected, three heat boilers have been installed, and the facility will be completed by the end of 2026.
In August 2026, the construction of water supply, sanitation, electricity, and gas supply networks of the second stage will begin. These engineering facilities will supply three research centers, a sports complex and two more dormitory buildings, the design of which has already been completed. The total area of the second stage of construction will be 106 thousand square meters. meters.
In addition, a social infrastructure will be created on the ITMO campus, accessible not only to University students and teachers, but also to all residents of St. Petersburg – recreation areas, a science museum, a multifunctional sports complex with an ice arena with stands for 500 spectators.
"The ITMO University campus and the ITMO Highpark project as a whole have already become a driver for the development of the surrounding area, as the project was originally conceived as a comprehensive innovative scientific and technological cluster integrated into the urban environment and closely linked to the Yuzhny Satellite City development project. As soon as the implementation of the campus project began, construction of new residential areas began along the Kiev highway. Leading construction companies and developers have entered the sites. Thus, a long-delayed demand for the southern territories of the agglomeration was provoked. The prospects of the location became obvious not only to professionals of the construction market, but also to home buyers and private investors. Apartments in this location are selling well, the demand for them is stable. Global experience shows a multiple increase in the cost of square meters in the areas of campuses and science and technology centers," said Andrey Nazarov, General Director of ITMO Highpark JSC.
Active work is also underway to attract residents of the Technology Valley. Among other things, Tech Valley investors plan to build a Collective Use Center for high-tech industry development and production centers and buildings for scientific and industrial purposes in the light industrial format.
For reference:
The total area of the ITMO Highpark is 86 hectares. The complex will include the main academic building, dormitories for students, research centers, business infrastructure, leisure and sports facilities with a total area of about 183 thousand square meters. meters. Also, about 140 thousand square meters will be occupied by innovative infrastructure facilities for residents, which will be created at the expense of private investments.
