St. Petersburg has signed a cooperation agreement with the Investment Development Agency of the Chuvash Republic.

On August 28, 2026, the business forum “Neva – Volga. Native Shores” was held at the State Academic Chapel of St. Petersburg as part of the Days of Chuvashia in St. Petersburg. The event was attended by representatives of government bodies, business communities, and business associations from St. Petersburg and Chuvashia.
The forum participants were welcomed by Larisa Rafikova, Minister of Economic Development and Property Relations of the Chuvash Republic, and Valery Frunze, Deputy Chairman of the St. Petersburg Investment Committee.
As Larisa Rafikova noted, Chuvashia and St. Petersburg have built a strong business agenda that covers all sectors of the economy, including agriculture, industry, and trade. She presented the areas of investment development of the Chuvash Republic, emphasizing the importance of ongoing cooperation with St. Petersburg.
Valery Frunze emphasized the high investment attractiveness of St. Petersburg, including in the context of interregional cooperation. “On the instructions of the Governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, we are systematically working to expand the range of state support measures for investors, including granting preferential status to significant projects in priority sectors and providing the relevant benefits. An essential part of the support is improving the legislative framework. We are continuously working to bring our regional legislation into line with federal legislation – at the moment, we are working on documents that simplify the investment and construction cycle,” Valery Frunze noted. “It is precisely this approach that ensures the formation of a favorable investment climate and a high level of investment activity in St. Petersburg.”
Marina Shatrova, Acting Director of the St. Petersburg State Budgetary Institution “Investment Management,” spoke about investment projects and opportunities in St. Petersburg, as well as the algorithm for working with investors through a “single window.” During the presentation, the megaprojects of St. Petersburg as a 21st‑century metropolis were presented, and the priority areas for attracting investment were identified — industry, high technologies, logistics, and tourism. Colleagues from Chuvashia learned about the services of the St. Petersburg Investment Portal, which consolidates support measures, tools for submitting an application to implement an investment project, and obtaining feedback.
The forum participants were also addressed by Dmitry Panov and Alexey Efimov, the chairpersons of the regional branches of the public organization “Delovaya Rossiya”. The meeting was moderated by Denis Vasiliev, Executive Director of the ANO “Investment Development Agency of the Chuvash Republic”.

As part of the forum, an agreement on cooperation was signed between the St. Petersburg State Budgetary Institution “Investment Management” and the ANO “Investment Development Agency of the Chuvash Republic” with the aim of exchanging experience in supporting investment projects and combining efforts to steadily increase the investment attractiveness of St. Petersburg and Chuvashia. Marina Shatrova and Denis Vasiliev signed the document.
At the end of the event, representatives of the business communities from the two regions discussed the prospects for expanding partnerships and cooperation in a networking and B2B format.
