"Island of Forts" became the winner of the "Project of the Year-2024" award

A well–deserved award was given to the new object "Islands of Forts" - the first Soviet nuclear submarine K-3 "Leninsky Komsomol", presented at the Museum of Naval Glory in Kronstadt. The award was organized by the Business Petersburg edition.

The Leninsky Komsomol submarine is one of the most historically significant objects in the exposition of the museum complex dedicated to the Navy. The formation of the Russian nuclear submarine fleet began with this legendary submarine. Thanks to the project to create a tourist and recreational cluster "Island of Forts", the boat was saved from recycling and a Museum exposition was built around it.

The K-3 Leninsky Komsomol submarine is the world's only hundred–meter underwater nuclear-powered vessel on open display indoors. The total length of the boat is more than 107 m, the total displacement is about 4,750 tons, and the weight is 2,558 tons. During the restoration of the boat, more than 70% of its equipment was recreated.

The museum and Historical Park "Island of Forts" is the first and largest park in Russia dedicated to the Navy. The cluster is being created as part of the Kronstadt Integrated Development Project, implemented on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The Island of Forts project provides for a record volume of investments in the modern history of Kronstadt – more than 80 billion rubles, including both budgetary and extra-budgetary financing.

Also, on behalf of the President, another large–scale investment project was launched in St. Petersburg - the creation of an all-season resort "St. Petersburg Marina" on the territory of the former Gorskaya construction site. Like the "Island of Forts", the projected recreational cluster in Gorskaya is designed to increase the interest of tourists in the Northern capital and become a catalyst for the development of new sports, social, business and social infrastructure.
