The construction of the Skipper interchange stage of the ZSD has been completed

Stage 3.2.2 of the transport interchange of the Western High‑Speed Diameter (WHSD) in the area of the Shkipersky Canal has received permission to enter into operation from the State Construction Supervision and Expertise Service of St. Petersburg. The document was issued on September 22, 2026.
As part of the new stage, a 230‑meter‑long road has been built — from the ramps of stage 3.2.1 to the Shkipersky Bridge — and a ground‑level pedestrian crossing at the intersection with Korablystroiteley Street, equipped with a traffic light post. The work was carried out on an area with a total area of almost 10,000 square meters.
The opening of motor traffic along the constructed interchange is planned after it is integrated with the existing road network from Shkipersky Protok Street to Nalichnaya Street. Work on creating the Shkipersky Protok, including the reconstruction of the bridge across the Shkipersky Canal, is scheduled for 2027.
The final stage of the interchange will provide transport links between the southwestern tip of Vasilyevsky Island and its main thoroughfares — Nalichnaya Street and Bolshoy Prospekt. A barrier-free toll collection system will operate at the Skipper Interchange.
It should be recalled that the construction of the ZSD transport interchange in the Skipper Bayou area is being carried out in stages. In December 2023, traffic was opened along three exits of the interchange, providing connection of the alluvial territories of Vasilyevsky Island in the directions of pr. Kruzenshtern → ZSD South and ZSD North, as well as ZSD North → etc. Krusenstern. In August 2024, automobile traffic was launched along the exit, providing traffic in the direction of the South-→ pr. Krusenstern.
The
""Western High-speed Diameter Highway Interchange in the Skipper Bayou area"" infrastructure project has been implemented in St. Petersburg since 2021. The aim of the project is to create additional round—the-clock communications on Vasilyevsky Island, including alluvial areas, with the northern and southern districts of the city. The traffic intensity across the entire Shkiperskaya interchange will be about 55,000 vehicles per day.
