Business cooperation with Japan was discussed in St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg government met with Mr. Iijima, Consul General of Japan in St. Petersburg and 20 Japanese companies’ specialists within the 12th St. Petersburg International Innovation Forum.

The Parties discussed the bilateral relations development, the favorable conditions creation for Japanese business in St. Petersburg and investment in urban projects. The Investment Committee provided the city’s investment policy report. Yevgeny Vasiliev, Deputy Chairman, spoke about the investment attractiveness of the Northern capital and progress in international ratings, existing investment projects and investors support measures.

Mr. Iijima, the Consul General of Japan in St. Petersburg, named the main reasons for St. Petersburg’s attractiveness for Japanese businessmen: logistics and proximity to Europe, a comfortable communal environment, highly-qualified staff, an opportunity to participate in large projects and preferences for business. Customs rules and supervisory authorities’ activities were named among the areas in which it is required to change improve.

Company’s representatives demonstrated own interest in the International Martial Arts Center project research, high-quality Japanese restaurants creation and making sake in the city within the meeting. All the required materials will be sent to companies, interested in the city’s investment projects, according to the vice-governor’s instruction.
