The “Proviantseyskie Magaziny” in Pushkin will be adapted into a park‑hotel.

The investor — the ACADEMIA group of companies — has received approval for the project documentation for the work to preserve and adapt the federal cultural heritage site “Proviantskie Magaziny” on Krasnoselskoe Highway in Pushkin. According to the project, it is planned to carry out restoration and adapt the building for use as a country five‑star hotel, as well as to carry out landscaping, which will restore the integrity of the ensemble.
“Preserving cultural heritage is one of the ten priorities for the development of St. Petersburg in the coming years. Domestic business is also contributing to this work.” The city government is building cooperation with interested entrepreneurs in such a way as to find the optimal balance between restoration and adaptation for modern use. We prioritize full compliance with historical standards and the restoration of lost elements. Thanks to this approach, we have already recreated many monumental buildings,” Governor Alexander Beglov noted.
As part of the agreed project, ACADEMIA will carry out repairs and strengthen the building’s load‑bearing structures, connect it to utility networks, and directly adapt it for use as a hotel, including equipping it with two elevators that can reach the attic floor. The restoration of historical elements — facades, Prussian vaults and semicircular arches — will be carried out in accordance with the requirements of the protection legislation, with the involvement of specialized contractors.
The room stock of the ACADEMIA Pushkin Park Hotel will consist of 100 rooms in the standard, junior suite and luxury categories. The space, with an area of 6,300 sq. metres, will be organised over four floors in accordance with the international hotel management standard. Premium materials will be used in the interiors: natural stone and dark wood. The interior design focuses on smooth lines: rounded walls, the absence of sharp corners, arched openings, and integrated lighting to ensure maximum comfort and create conditions for complete recovery and relaxation.
Guests will have access to a restaurant serving signature cuisine, a banquet hall, a spa complex, a beauty area, a separate bath complex with saunas, an all‑season swimming pool and a gym, and a club lounge with billiards. An equipped conference hall is planned for business events. Families with children will be able to use a specially designated children’s area.
The project in Pushkin is our first experience in creating a country hotel‑mansion. We see an emerging trend towards premium domestic tourism and the growing popularity of the quiet residence format, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The location has high potential for demand both in the MICE segment and in leisure tourism: the facility is within walking distance of the Tsarskoye Selo Museum‑Reserve, and its proximity to the Expoforum exhibition centre and Pulkovo Airport ensures convenient logistics for business travellers. Our key task is to breathe new life into the architectural monument by creating infrastructure that will operate for decades without disrupting the historical appearance of the ensemble,” commented Sergey Stepanov, strategic partner of the ACADEMIA Group of Companies.
The company also plans to regenerate the historical environment: ACADEMIA is considering the possibility of restoring the lost building based on archival data.

    For reference:
The “Provision Stores” were built between 1819 and 1822 according to the design of Vasily Stasov — one of the leading architects of Russian Empire style, the author of the Trinity and Transfiguration Cathedrals, the Narva Triumphal Gates, and the Imperial Stables in St. Petersburg. During the Great Patriotic War, the buildings were severely damaged, and later they were restored for the needs of the military department. In 2001, the complex was granted the status of a cultural heritage site of federal significance.
ACADEMIA Group specializes in the comprehensive restoration and adaptation of cultural heritage objects. Since 2025, ACADEMIA has been a partner of St. Petersburg in adapting cultural heritage objects for use as hotels; the relevant agreement was signed at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The company was awarded the honorary government award “Investor of the Year” for the best investment project in the “Preservation of Historical and Cultural Heritage Objects” category for the implementation of the project to adapt A. P. Shuvalov’s mansion for use as a hotel.
