Pulkovo Airport became the winner of the Digital TOP Award

The operator of Pulkovo Airport, the Northern Capital Air Gate Consortium, received the Digital TOP award in the field of air transportation development from the Business Petersburg edition.

The reward is more than deserved. Over the past two years, a number of digital solutions based on domestic software developments have been introduced in Pulkovo to improve the efficiency of service in the face of increasing passenger traffic.

So, in 2023, the airport launched a mobile boarding pass service. Since March of this year, the service has become available to all carriers on domestic airlines.

In addition, in 2023, as part of the import substitution strategy, Pulkovo was the first among the three largest airports in Russia to switch to Russian-made Aist software. The new platform made it possible to serve passengers at check-in desks 15-30% faster. More than 170 workplaces are connected to the platform, which serve more than 40 airlines and about 70 thousand people per day.

Since June 2024, a domestic mobile inspection and inspection complex has been launched in Pulkovo, which allowed the St. Petersburg air harbor to be the first among Russian airports to automate the inspection of transport. A Russian integrated baggage handling system is also expected to be launched in Pulkovo soon.

Thus, the task set by the Russian Government to fully switch to domestic IT technologies by 2025 at St. Petersburg airport is being fulfilled in full.

Recall that the development of Pulkovo airport is a strategic investment project of St. Petersburg. In 2023, the city began the implementation of the second stage of the airport development under the mechanism of public-private partnership. The improvement of the airport infrastructure, taking into account the increasing passenger traffic, includes the creation of a new passenger terminal, boarding galleries with teletraps, comfortable areas for passengers, special service areas for certain categories of passengers and other facilities.

According to the results of the first half of 2024, passenger traffic in Pulkovo increased by 4% compared to the same period in 2023.
