Petrolesport JSC has received construction permits for the development of port infrastructure
The St. Petersburg State Construction Supervision and Expertise Service has issued Petrolesport JSC three permits for the construction of infrastructure as part of the development of the port terminal on Volny Island.
The permits issued relate to a warehouse of lifting and transport equipment and small-scale mechanization (Free Island, section west of house 1, letter C), a container storage unit with a weighing platform weighing up to 60 tons (near house 1, letter K) and a rigging warehouse (house 6, letter A).
Petrolesport JSC is one of the largest stevedoring companies of the Bolshoy Port of St. Petersburg. The company is part of the Global Ports group, which is the leading operator of container terminals on the Russian market. The project "Development of the terminal of Petrolesport Joint Stock Company with the placement of facilities for the capital construction of seaports, including marine berths and hydraulic structures" has been awarded the status of a strategic investment project in St. Petersburg.
The project is aimed at developing infrastructure and increasing the competitiveness of the Russian transport complex. The main task is to modernize the old and create new technological platforms to increase the capacity of the container terminal to 2.0 – 2.3 million tons. TEU per year and ensuring the processing of promising Ro-Ro cargoes in the amount of at least 700 thousand tons per year. To develop the planned cargo turnover, the project is creating container and ferry terminals.
The project is being implemented on six land plots. In December 2022, two berths 49 and 50 on the island "Dam Grebenka" were put into operation, in January 2023, two more berths received permits for commissioning.
The company's investment strategy provides for a further increase in berthing and storage capacities, as well as the railway and automobile front. The volume of investments in the project is 4.2 billion rubles. Project implementation period: 2018 - 2026.
