The architectural appearance of the ITMO Highpark sports complex has been approved

The Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture of St. Petersburg has approved the architectural appearance of the future sports complex, which will be built on the territory of the ITMO scientific, educational and innovation center "Highpark" in the satellite city of Yuzhny. The sports complex is part of the second phase of the ITMO University campus under construction. 
The building of the sports complex will be located in a convenient location – along a pedestrian street next to the educational and residential part of the campus. It includes a hockey arena, two multifunctional halls, halls for warm-ups, general physical training, rhythmic gymnastics, martial arts, as well as swimming and rowing pools and other functional facilities for sports and recreation.
A football field with a grandstand for 500 spectators and a running track, tennis courts, volleyball and basketball courts, and an area for extreme sports will be built outside.
The total area of the complex will be about 146 thousand square meters, the building of the sports complex will be about 12 thousand square meters. The height of the building will be about 15 meters. Everything in the building will be adapted so that the complex can be used by sedentary groups of the population.
The sports complex is primarily designed for regular classes of students, undergraduates and teachers of ITMO University, it will also be able to host a variety of sports events and competitions.

ITMO Highpark is a scientific and educational innovation center, which is being created on the basis of ITMO University in the south of St. Petersburg. The complex will consist of a campus for undergraduates and graduate students and a Technology valley with a business park for high-tech companies. The total area of the territory is 86 hectares, of which 140 thousand square meters will be occupied by scientific and innovative infrastructure facilities, another 183 thousand square meters. meters — dormitories, academic buildings, infrastructure for students, research centers and other campus facilities.
Currently, the construction of the first stage facilities is being actively implemented, which will include the main academic building and the first two buildings of dormitories.
The creation of the Yuzhny satellite city is a strategic project of St. Petersburg, which is included in the shortlist of priority projects in Russia. It is planned to create more than 40 thousand jobs in the new district.
