The progress of work on the Slavyanka tram line project was presented to the members of the Expert Council at the Public Chamber of St. Petersburg

On June 10, a joint meeting of the Expert Council at the Public Chamber of St. Petersburg and the commissions of the Public Chamber of St. Petersburg was held at the site of the Higher School of Economics. One of the issues on the agenda of the meeting was devoted to the construction of the Slavyanka high-speed tram line. Maxim Sharipov, Chairman of the St. Petersburg Investment Committee, and Dmitry Pankratov, CEO of the concessionaire company, spoke about the implementation of this project and its significance for St. Petersburg. Thus, experts noted the active progress of the construction of the line, which is deployed in several sections. The reconstruction of the water supply system, pressure sewerage and the construction of a new rain sewer, which will ensure the operation of the new tram line, is underway on Balkan Square. Work is underway on shore protection and sewerage of the Volkovka River, a tram bridge is being built here – its length will be almost 34 meters, the width along the outer edges is 11 meters. Also, as part of the second stage, two more bridges are being built – across the Kuzminka River and, currently temporary, across the Slavyanka River. The construction of two overpasses continues, one of which will pass through the railway tracks of the Vitebsk direction of the Oktyabrskaya Railway and Vitebsk Avenue. The second one, a truss overpass at the intersection with the Moskovsky Highway, the railway and the Ring Road, will pass the third level above the Ring Road. A tram depot is being built, which will include a complex of buildings and structures designed for the maintenance and repair of rolling stock, as well as the infrastructure of the tram line. The depot complex provides 295 jobs. Recall that the Slavyanka tram line project involves the construction of three bridges, four overpasses, a modern automated tram depot, bus shelters, terminal stops comfortable for passengers, and the purchase of modern low-floor trams. The total length of the tram tracks will be 21 km, the number of stops – 24, the number of rolling stock – 22 units, passenger traffic – 10.3 – 13 million people per year. The commissioning of the line is planned to be carried out in stages: the commissioning of the 1st stage - by the end of 2025; the commissioning of the 2nd stage – no later than the end of 2026. To date, permits have been received from the St. Petersburg State Construction Supervision and Expertise Service for the construction of the first and second stages of the line. Agreements have been concluded to raise the financing necessary for the implementation of the first and second stages of the project. The purchase of rolling stock has been carried out. The creation of a tram line along the route "Kupchino metro station - Shushary - Slavyanka settlement" is carried out within the framework of a concession agreement between St. Petersburg and BaltNedvizhService LLC.
