The Island of Forts became the winner of the Parks of Russia Award

The project "Island of Forts" was recognized as the best in the nomination "Park of the Year. Small towns of 25-50 thousand" I All-Russian Park Award "Parks of Russia". The winners were selected according to several criteria: the general condition of the park, new landscaping facilities, infrastructure, attendance and popularity. The museum and Historical Park "Island of Forts" is the first and largest park in Russia dedicated to the Navy. The cluster is being created as part of the Kronstadt Integrated Development Project, implemented on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The concept of the project was first presented at SPIEF 2019. A comfortable urban environment is being formed on an area of about 150 hectares, social, educational, tourist, recreational and engineering infrastructure facilities are being created, historical and architectural monuments are being restored. It provides for the construction of hotels, the renovation and expansion of the road transport network, the creation of parking lots, a well-maintained pedestrian promenade 2.5 km long and other facilities. In less than five years, large-scale work has been carried out in several areas. In 2020, a children's "Camp of real heroes" appeared, which can provide one-time accommodation for 160 children per shift. In 2021, regular passenger water service to Kronstadt was resumed. In the summer of 2022, the third stage of the creation of the museum and historical park "Island of Forts" was completed. In 2023, the Museum of Naval Glory of Russia was opened, Kronstadt hosted for the first time a large business event - the International Naval Salon, which was held in the complex of the Museum and the Convention and Exhibition Center. In 2023, the internal exposition of the first Russian nuclear submarine K-3 "Leninsky Komsomol" was also opened. In November 2023, ANO "Island of Forts" received the honorary badge of the Government of St. Petersburg "Investor of the Year" for the implementation of the best investment project in the field of territorial development. By 2025, it is planned to restore and adapt for modern use the central objects of the project — forts of Peter the Great's time: "Alexander I", "Peter I", "Kronshlot". An agreement of intent for its construction was signed at SPIEF 2023 between St. Petersburg, the Avangard Educational and Methodological Center and the Island of Forts ANO. The Island of Forts project provides for a record volume of investments in the modern history of Kronstadt – more than 80 billion rubles, including both budgetary and extra-budgetary financing.
