Pulkovo Airport received the award of the Wings of Russia Award

The award ceremony of the Wings of Russia National Aviation Award for 2023 was held in Moscow. Pulkovo entered the top three in the country and was awarded by the jury in the nomination "Airport of the Year" (group I, more than 14 million passengers). In 2023, the airport served 20.4 million passengers, which exceeded the results of the previous year and allowed the airport to take second place in Russia in terms of traffic. Recall that the development of Pulkovo airport is a strategic investment project of St. Petersburg. In 2023, the Government of St. Petersburg, together with Air Gates of the Northern Capital LLC and Pulkovo Airport JSC, began implementing the second stage of the project, which, taking into account the increasing passenger traffic, provides for the expansion of the terminal complex and other infrastructure facilities. For the implementation of the second stage of the airport development, urban planning plans for two sites have been received. The first one was issued for an area of 59 hectares on the Pulkovo highway, section 1, west of the airport building. The second one is for an extended section northwest of the access road along Pulkovskoye highway, house 41, letter A. It houses, among other things, the airport building and the building of the old terminal, known as the "five glasses". Both documents were issued for construction. The project of the second stage of the airport is divided into three phases. The first, phase A, involves the construction of a new boarding gallery, the expansion of the apron for aircraft parking. For reference: The Wings of Russia Award has been celebrating airlines and airports for 27 years, which increase the global competitiveness of the industry, raise the bar for the quality of air transportation, develop the route network and increase the availability of flights for passengers.
