New Holland was recognized as World Heritage Conservation Practice

Today grand opening of the memorial plaque in honor of the victory of St. Petersburg in the Organization of World Heritage Cities Jean-Paul-L'Allier award will take place in New Holland.

St. Petersburg won the International Heritage Conservation Award in June 2019 at the XV Congress of the World Heritage Cities Organization The Jean-Paul-L'Allier Prize.

The award was provided to popularize best practices and achievements, related to World Heritage Sites conservation and management in an urban environment.

Five projects were provided in St. Petersburg nomination, including «New Holland», Planetarium No. 1, «Sevcable port», «Petrovsky Arsenal» space in Sestroretsk and «Tkachi» creative space.

«New Holland» island territory development is St. Petersburg investment project, which purpose is the architectural monument restoration and an open public space creation. The new public space has become a vivid cultural accent, a favorite leisure place for Petersburg residents and a hallmark of the city.

It is planned to completely terminate St. Petersburg industrial architecture unique monument restoration until 2025. Work on a large-scale island reconstruction project, consisting of 5 stages, is carried out by New Holland Development LLC investor, supported by St. Petersburg Investment Committee.
