A press tour of the facilities of the first stage of the Slavyanka tram line took place

The degree of readiness for operation of the tram line along the route "Kupchino metro station" – Shushary village – MKR. Slavyanka was evaluated by media representatives during a press tour to the construction site on October 31.
The event was attended by Ivan Skladchikov, Chairman of the St. Petersburg Investment Committee, the heads of the BaltNedvizhService LLC concessionaire company and ABZ-Dorstroy JSC, the general contractor responsible for the construction of the tram line.
The implementation of the project is an important part of the program "10 priorities for the development of St. Petersburg".
"Convenient public transport is one of the ten priorities for the development of St. Petersburg until 2030. The construction of rapid tram lines is promising for the transport system in the south of the city. The first of them will connect Kupchino metro station and Slavyanka microdistrict in Pushkinsky district. This project will radically improve the transport accessibility of new neighborhoods, primarily residential buildings in Shushary. It is important that almost all the equipment here is of domestic production. I am sure that the Kupchino-Shushary-Slavyanka line will serve as a model for other rail lines, which the city agreed to create with investors at SPIEF 2025," said Alexander Beglov.
During the press tour, special attention was paid to the depot, where structural and spatial planning solutions have already been completed, administrative, household and production buildings have been erected, the laying of the upper structure of the track has been completed, switches and a contact network have been installed, a boiler room has been installed and constant electricity has been supplied. New two-way cars 71-932 Nevsky were also inspected, the first batch of which arrived at the Slavyanka depot in August-September and is already ready for running-in.
As Ivan Skladchikov emphasized, the model of a three-section two-way carriage 71-932 Nevsky with an increased passenger capacity was chosen for the line in order to spend the most comfortable time on the way to Slavyanka microdistrict. The wagons are manufactured at the Nevsky Electric Transport Plant named after A.F.Pirotsky. Import-substituted materials, including temperature compensators, are used throughout the tram line.
The participants of the press tour were particularly interested in the depot's technological equipment. In particular, the devices for vertical movement of heavy-duty equipment DEP-10 with a lifting capacity of 10 tons each produced by the St. Petersburg plant "Energoprom", wheel-rolling machine TK2500, purchased from GC "Techstroy" as part of the import substitution program, as well as the domestic electric traction shunting machine "Antey A1" with remote control, which was demonstrated by the depot staff.
The next stop on the inspection route was the intersection of Vilerovsky Lane and Novgorodsky Prospekt. According to the project, rainwater and cable sewers have already been installed here, the construction of the upper structure of the track has been completed, a sewage pumping station has been installed, contact network supports and a side stone have been installed. On the other side of Vilerovsky Lane, at the corner with Starorussky Avenue, five bus shelters are currently being installed and preparations are underway for the installation of a contact network.
Other points of attention were overpasses and bridges, where active work continues. Metal structures, barrier and railing fences have been installed on the overpass through the Moskovskoye Highway, the railway tracks of the Southern Semicircle of the Oktyabrskaya Railway and the Ring Road, waterproofing has been completed, contact network supports have been installed, and the roadway plate has been completed. Work continues on pouring concrete expansion joints, painting railings and barrier fences, laying the upper structure of the track and installing a contact network.
The superstructure above the ring road is 240.8 meters long, and the total length of the overpass, including the retaining walls and the branch to Vilerovsky Lane, is 1209.23 meters. The 24-span structure, the valve of which was completed last year, is supported by 25 supports made of high-strength frost-resistant waterproof reinforced concrete. The maximum height of the support is 12.7 m, which is 30% higher than the average supports.
The construction of a covered bus shelter on Balkan Square is nearing completion: the installation of metal structures has been completed, the roof is being installed, and platforms are being installed. The laying of the sleeper rail has already been completed, and the installation of the contact network continues.
More than 500 workers and about 120 pieces of construction equipment are involved in the work.
The planned launch of the first stage of the project from the Kupchino metro station to the tram depot in the village of Shushary is scheduled for the end of 2025. It is planned to fully put the Slavyanka line into operation in 2026.
