Operators of the Chizhik and Slavyanka tram lines have joined the unified Standard of service for passengers with limited mobility

Last week in St. Petersburg, within the framework of the Coordinating Council on Transport Accessibility, a single Standard for servicing passengers with limited mobility was signed. The document was signed in the presence of Denis Minkin, Chairman of the Transport Committee, by the heads of all urban land public transport carriers in the Northern Capital, including the operator of the Chizhik line, Transport Concession Company LLC, and the operator of the Slavyanka line, BaltNedvizhService LLC.
The adopted standard defines clear algorithms for the actions of drivers, conductors and supervisors when boarding, disembarking and escorting passengers with disabilities, down to specific speech formulations. Regular inspections of rolling stock with the participation of representatives of public organizations and relevant experts are also envisaged.
The new regulations will become the basis for briefings and lectures in all transport companies in the city. The purpose of the regulations is to make trips by land public transport more accessible, comfortable and safe for sedentary citizens.
Uniform rules for servicing passengers with limited mobility were developed by the Committee on Transport, the city's transportation companies, and public organizations for the disabled with the active support and assistance of deputies of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg.
The document was signed at the depot of the Slavyanka tram line. As noted at the ceremony, the next meeting of the Coordinating Council will be held at the Chizhik depot.
