The project of adaptation of two buildings of the Apraksin yard has been agreed

The scientific and design documentation of the adaptation for modern use of buildings No. 37 and 38 of Apraksina Dvora on Sadovaya Street, 28-30 received a positive opinion from the Committee for State Control, Use and Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments. The investor plans to carry out work on the restoration of these buildings and adapt them to a shopping mall.
The restoration and adaptation for modern use will be carried out according to the concept of the transformation of the facility, approved on October 24, 2017 at a meeting of the Council for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage under the Government of St. Petersburg.
In particular, the facades of the future shopping complex will be restored taking into account the historical architectural appearance of the Apraksina Dvora complex. It is planned to recreate the space of the passage - a passage between the buildings, blocked by a glass roof-lantern. It is also planned to recreate metal canopies on cast-iron columns along the facades of the complex, as well as the facades themselves with door and window fillings.
As part of the implementation of this project, the investor will carry out landscaping of the adjacent territory and carry out measures for the reconstruction of engineering infrastructure facilities.
It should be noted that the Apraksin Dvor revival program is one of the 10 priorities of St. Petersburg's socio–economic development. The work under this program includes a wide range of activities, from the restoration of facades to the restoration of historical architectural, artistic and spatial solutions of the ensemble, and will be carried out to ensure the physical preservation of objects of historical and cultural value.
It should be recalled that the decision to conclude an agreement with the investor on the reconstruction and adaptation for modern use of buildings No. 37 and 38 on the territory of Apraksin Dvor was made at a working meeting of the Governor with members of the city Government on May 20, 2024.
