St. Petersburg took the sixth place in the National rating of the investment climate

The presentation of the results of the National Rating of the Investment Climate in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation was traditionally held at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
The national rating is formed annually by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives together with leading business associations. The rating evaluates the efforts of regional authorities to create favorable business conditions, and its results stimulate competition for investments at the regional level.
This year, the rating structure has been updated in accordance with new national goals, best international and Russian practices, and proposals from the business community and regional investment teams.
The updated methodology doubled the scope of assessment, from four to eight categories. The rating is based on 110 indicators and includes those that evaluate business support measures in the regions. The end-to-end element of the rating is the regional investment standard (RIS), which evaluates a separate index of the effectiveness of the implementation of its elements.
Also, when assessing the investment climate, ASI experts this year took into account non-rating indicators: the effectiveness of procedures for putting a cultural heritage site into operation, the effectiveness of procedures for connecting heat supply, and innovative infrastructure.
Special attention is paid to the results of the work of the subjects of the Russian Federation on the implementation of the sixth element of the RIS – feedback "PIC.Business". This mechanism allows entrepreneurs to apply online through the Public Services portal and receive support in the shortest possible time.
