The construction of the second stage of the Slavyanka tram line has entered its final stage.

More than 16 km of rails (80%) have been laid and more than 300 (90%) poles of the contact network have been installed on the second stage of the Slavyanka tram line — from the depot in the village of Shushary to the Slavyanka microdistrict. In addition, the installation of equipment for all five traction substations has been completed at this site. The commissioning works will begin after the completion of the construction works. The road surface has also been installed by 50%, including the installation of more than 10 km of side stone.
"The construction of the second stage of the Slavyanka tram line is reaching the finish line. A large—scale investment project in the field of transport infrastructure has reached a high degree of readiness," stressed Alexander Beglov. – We rely on modern and eco-friendly public transport. The launch of the tram line along its entire length, from Kupchino metro station to Slavyanka microdistrict, will increase the transport accessibility of the south of St. Petersburg, the comfort of the urban environment and the quality of life in the Pushkin district."
At the second stage, the construction of an overpass through Vitebsk Avenue with a length of 86.3 meters has been completed. All rails have already been laid here and all the supports of the contact network have been installed. The wiring of the contact network is currently being installed, which is scheduled to be completed in July. Similar work is also underway on the overpass through the railway tracks of the Vitebsk direction of the Oktyabrskaya Railway and the Children's Railway, which is 340 meters long.
Preparatory work for landscaping is underway in the area of the bridge over the Kuzminka River built in 2025 and on the territory adjacent to the tram line on Toropetskaya Street, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of July. Construction and installation work has been completed at the Slavyanka terminal and installation of control systems has begun.
The commissioning of the second stage of the Slavyanka tram line is scheduled for December 2026.
    For reference:
The Slavyanka tram line is one of Russia's largest concession projects for the creation of a new urban public transport infrastructure. The project is being implemented through a public-private partnership mechanism. The concession agreement between the Government of St. Petersburg and BaltNedvizhService LLC (part of ABZ-1 Group of Companies) was signed in 2019 and is designed for 30 years.
Traffic on the first stage of the Slavyanka line, from Kupchino metro station to the Valdai Street stop in Shushary, was opened on December 24, 2025. Since the launch of the route, the tram has transported more than 1.7 million passengers, which shows its high demand among the citizens.
