SPIEF 2025: New historical boutique hotels will appear in St. Petersburg

On June 19, 2025, within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, an agreement of intent was signed between St. Petersburg and the ACADEMIA boutique hotel chain (represented by Hotel Invest LLC) to implement investment projects to adapt cultural heritage sites to hotels (boutique hotels) with the necessary infrastructure for modern use.
The agreement was signed by Nikolay Linchenko, Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg, and Sergey Stepanov, General Director of Hotel Invest LLC. The document provides for the establishment of long-term cooperation between ACADEMIA and St. Petersburg in order to preserve and adapt cultural heritage sites, develop hotel infrastructure and increase the tourist attractiveness of St. Petersburg.
The investor plans to create hotel complexes in St. Petersburg with unique historical suites and boutique restaurants with recreated interior elements of the XVIII–XIX centuries. The hotel complexes will also include reception and accommodation areas, lobby bars created in authentic historical interiors, recreation and SPA areas, conference rooms for business events, outdoor terraces for guests to relax and much more.
The cooperation between the investor and the government of St. Petersburg within the framework of the memorandum of understanding corresponds to the objectives of one of the ten priorities for the development of St. Petersburg - "Preservation of historical heritage and support for culture", as well as the national goals formulated by Russian President Vladimir Putin in the program for the preservation of cultural heritage sites of the country's peoples for the period 2025-2045.
