St. Petersburg took the third place in the National rating of the investment climate

According to the established tradition, the results of the National Rating of the Investment Climate in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation were presented at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. St. Petersburg improved its position and entered the top 3 regions of the rating.
The national rating is formed annually by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) based on the results of a full-scale survey campaign of businesses and leading business associations. The rating evaluates the efforts of regional authorities to create favorable business conditions and identifies the best regional practices. The results of this rating contribute to increased competition among regions for attracting investments.
The improved methodology of the National Rating of the investment Climate was formed by ASI together with representatives of the regions and includes eight thematic areas of assessment: "Real estate", "Engineering networks and communications", "Business protection", "Business support measures", "Export activities", "Infrastructure and technology", "Human and labor resources", "Market development and competition".
This year, more indicators were taken into account when forming the rating compared to previous years, and many metrics were refined and detailed. In particular, the rating structure has been expanded from 110 to 125 indicators, and six new rating indicators have been added regarding the availability of financial and innovation infrastructure for businesses. Clarifications have also been made for model objects and an assessment of the level of application of the risk-based approach has been included. In addition, a sub-index has been created that reflects the effectiveness of preserving and involving cultural heritage sites in economic turnover, based on 15 indicators.
Recall that the end-to-end element of the rating is the regional investment standard (RIS), which provides an indicator of the effectiveness of the implementation of its elements.
In St. Petersburg, comprehensive support of investment projects in accordance with the RIS is carried out on the principle of a "single window", and all information about current procedures and business support measures is available to entrepreneurs on the official Investment portal.
