The investor has completed the reconstruction of Building No. 3 of the Sestroretsky Resort sanatorium.

JSC “Sanatorium ‘Sestroretsky Kurort’” has completed the reconstruction of Sanatorium Building No. 3. The permit to put the facility into operation was issued by the Service of State Construction Supervision and Expertise of St. Petersburg on August 28, 2026.
“Sestroretsky Kurort” is a landmark place for St. Petersburg with a history spanning more than a century. We are restoring its former glory, including by restoring the lost Kurzal. This aligns with the goals of our priority “Preservation of Historical Heritage and Support of Culture.” “The completion of the reconstruction is also an important contribution to the development of the sanatorium‑resort infrastructure and the creation of comfortable conditions for recreation and health improvement,” Governor Alexander Beglov emphasized.
Thanks to the project’s implementation, the sanatorium’s sleeping building has expanded from 260 to 399 rooms, including 12 rooms for guests with limited mobility, and has been supplemented with modern medical and sports and health centres.
The medical centre is located on the first and underground floors. The total area of the premises for medical services for visitors is 1,696.76 square metres. The premises include reception and diagnostic departments and a treatment department, which are designed for undergoing sanatorium procedures, health improvement, and rehabilitation.
The sanatorium’s sports and health centre, with a total area of 2,272.97 square metres, is located on floors 2–3 and includes a health‑improving swimming pool measuring 25 × 13.5 metres, a sauna, a gym with an area of 324.31 square metres, a physiotherapy hall, eight massage rooms, changing rooms with a capacity of 60 people per shift, coaching rooms and a storage room, a nurse’s office and auxiliary premises, as well as a hall with a phyto‑bar area.
The sanatorium’s guests will be fed in a buffet restaurant on the ground floor. The café areas are also located here. The restaurant hall, with a total area of 868.16 square metres, has 398 seating places.
The renovated building has a total of 12 floors, including an underground one, which includes the necessary service, technical and administrative premises.
A car parking lot with 88 spaces has been created for the sanatorium’s guests.
The sanatorium is scheduled to open in the 4th quarter of 2026. Currently, booking for accommodation and health programs is available.
It should be noted that the reconstruction of the Sestroretsk Resort was carried out under the nationwide program to support domestic tourism and hospitality, using preferential lending. The development of the sanatorium is carried out within the framework of an agreement between St. Petersburg and an investor, signed at SPIEF‑2026.
The project provides for the restoration of the historical building of the Kurzal, which was lost during the Great Patriotic War and was intended for holding cultural events for the sanatorium’s guests. The restoration work is in the final stage. The Kurzal is scheduled to be put into operation in the spring of 2027.
    For reference:
The Sestroretsky Resort sanatorium was opened in June 1900. At various times, Maxim Gorky, Alexander Blok, Ilya Repin, Sergei Rachmaninoff, and other famous guests stayed there.
In 2021, the Sestroretsky Resort became the property of the LSR Group.
