    The construction project for the next stage of the CMMSD has been agreed upon

    On December 12, 2025, FAA Glavgosexpertiza of Russia issued a positive opinion on the design and estimate documentation for the construction of stage 4.2.2 of the Latitudinal High-speed Highway in St. Petersburg.
    The 2.4 km section will run from the city's border at the intersection with Commune Street, then through the Leningrad Region to the intersection with the Ring Road around St. Petersburg.
    As part of the construction, three overpasses, an overpass over the ring road, an overpass on the ring road with a length of 192 meters and two retaining walls will be erected.
    The project provides for the construction of a transport interchange at the intersection with the ring Road. The boundaries of the work have also been defined, including a promising interchange with Commune Street.
    When designing stage 4.2.2, planning solutions were developed taking into account its passage through the territory of historically formed industrial and communal buildings. In particular, it is planned to install about 4.5 km of noise barriers at the site to reduce the noise level from traffic.
    Site characteristics:
    - the estimated speed is 120 km/h;
    - the total number of traffic lanes (after unlocking the exits to the ring road) – from 4 to 6 pcs.;
    - the number of interchanges – 1 pc.;
    - the number of exits – 5 pcs.;
    - the width of the lanes for motor vehicles (internal / external) – 3.50 – 3.75 m;
    - the width of the security lane is 2x1 m;
    - the width of the stopping lane is 2x1.50 m;
    - the width of the dividing strip is from 2.68 to 5 m.
    It should be recalled that the construction of the Latitudinal High–speed Highway is a megaproject of St. Petersburg, implemented on behalf of the President of Russia on the development of the transport system of the St. Petersburg agglomeration. In accordance with the Master Plan for the Development of St. Petersburg, the CMMSD, along with the Western High-speed Diameter and the Ring Road, will ensure the withdrawal of transit traffic flows from the city center, create a direct link between the eastern areas of urban development with the center and south of the city and indirectly through the WSD with the north.
