The average daily passenger traffic on the first stage of the Slavyanka line is more than nine thousand people.

At a working meeting between the Governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, and members of the city government, the results of the development of the Pushkin district in 2025 were summed up today. The program of socio-economic development of the area for 2026-2028, prepared taking into account the 10 priorities of the development of St. Petersburg and the updated Strategy of socio-economic development of the city until 2035, was also discussed.
In particular, the issue of improving the transport infrastructure of the Pushkin district was considered. This is facilitated, among other things, by the construction of a high-speed tram line from Kupchino metro station to Slavyanka. In December 2025, traffic was opened along the first stage of the line, to Valdai Street in Shushary and in the opposite direction.
"The introduction of the Southern Latitudinal Highway and the high-speed tram line along its entire length to Slavyanka will radically change the transport geography in the south of St. Petersburg. This is necessary not only for residents of the Pushkin district, but also for megaprojects of federal importance. For the Technological valleys of Nevsky Delta and ITMO Highpark, as well as for the new site of the Special Economic Zone in Shushary. In the future, the Pushkin district will become the largest in St. Petersburg and one of the largest scientific and technological centers in Russia," said Alexander Beglov.
The average daily passenger traffic on the first stage of the line is more than nine thousand people. Since the beginning of operation, trams of the Slavyanka line have transported more than 325,000 passengers.
The plans for this year are to fully implement the project and launch traffic to the final stop "Kolpinskoe highway" in the Slavyanka microdistrict. At the second stage, 13 more stops and 10.5 km of track will be added.
Currently, the second stage of the line includes the installation of the upper structure of the track and the installation of contact network supports on the overpass through Vitebsk Avenue. The construction of a cable sewer system has been completed on the section of the tram depot to the railway tracks of the Vitebsk direction. The construction of the upper structure of the track and the poles of the contact network is underway. Barrier and railing fences are being installed on the overpass through the railway tracks of the Vitebsk direction of the Oktyabrskaya Railway and the Children's Railway. On Podbelsky Highway, Toropetskaya and Severskaya Streets, the lower and upper track structures are being installed, and the contact network supports are being installed. A cable sewer system is under construction along Novgorodsky Prospekt from Vilerovsky Lane to Starorussky Prospekt. The construction of the Slavyanka final stop, which will serve as a technical point for drivers, has been completed.
In the future, the Slavyanka line is planned to be extended to the St. Petersburg State University campus and the Nevsky Delta Innovative Scientific and Technological Center under construction, which will fully correspond to the route laid out in the Master Plan of St. Petersburg.
