Stables Department Building reconstruction concepts presentation in St. Petersburg has been completed

Stables Department Building reconstruction concepts presentation and the Stable Office architectural ensemble modern use, opened in July 2019, has been finally terminated.

St. Petersburg’s residents and guests were provided with a chance to learn the architectural monument restoration concepts of the 18th century as well as provide a feedback in the visitors book.

The visitors provided about a hundred feedbacks and suggestions within the exhibition. Most of the proposals support the future project’s social orientation, namely the museums, exhibition venues, concert halls, lecture halls, a «green» walking area creation on the Stable Office’s territory, the preservation of the current Memorial Church in Honor of the Miraculous Image of the Savior and the need to resolve the parking issue as well.

The visitors were provided with a chance to learn five companies’ concepts within the Stables Office exhibition, namely «Start Development» LLC, «Cuirass Invest» LLC, «Tandem Estate» LLC, «Center for Exhibition and Museum Projects» JSC and the State Museum of the History of St. Petersburg. All the companies have an extremely responsible attitude to the task, took into account both previous Stables department use practice, operating features and territory development options as well.

«Our goal is to both preserve the original appearance and cultural heritage as well as learn the citizens' wishes for the historical monument’s future», Roman Golovanov, Investment Committee Chairman said. «Petersburgers need to get more open leisure spaces in the city center, including for both children and youth. That’s why newly recreated historical places are especially highly-valuable»

The Stables Department buildings complex is a unique architectural monument, which construction started at Peter the Great time. The Stables Department was rebuilt in the 19th century. Its last restoration took place in the middle of the 20th century.

The Stable Department building reconstruction mechanism implementation by signing the concession agreement was proposed in 2017 by St. Petersburg Investment Committee. It is planned to place exposition and concert halls, creative and educational workshops on the architectural monument’s territory, as well as to organize an open city-wide cultural space, according to the general concept. Moreover, the special presentations emphasis is focused on the architectural complex historical appearance preservation and revival as well.
