Three Orthodox churches will be built in the south of St. Petersburg and in Peterhof

St. Petersburg Government approved three land plots transfer for the churches construction in Moscow region, Kupchino and Peterhof.

The church parish in the name of Rakha - prudent robber will be built on Kosmonavtov avenue. Its capacity will be 350-380 persons. There will take place Sunday school classes, as well as patriotic, cultural and historical education events for young people.

The project feature is the penal military units spiritual and educational center organization at the church, according to Roman Golovanov, St. Petersburg Investment Committee chairman. The three-story church building will consist of a lower church with an altar, an upper church with an altar, Sunday school premises, rooms for the clergy, a baptismal hall, church shops, administrative and utility rooms.

A plot, located on Utah Bondarovskaya street in Peterhof, was given to the parish of the Holy Martyr John the Warrior temple. The project implies the Orthodox complex construction, consisting of a temple building with a bell tower, a two-story clergy house and a chapel. The new temple will be located close to the historical building of the 148th Caspian Infantry Regiment. The temple complex of the holy martyr John the Warrior will include a church, a chapel and a clergy house. Construction is planned to be carried out according to an individual project, architectural decisions will be made in Peterhof traditions, given the lost church appearance.
