The competition start for the public space creation in Tauride Garden has been announced

Greenhouses on Tauride Garden’s territory will become a new point of involvement of both St. Petersburg residents and visitors. St. Petersburg Government approved an open competition holding for the territory renovation at the address: Potemkinskaya street, 2, letters D, J, E, Kirochnaya street 50, letter D).

«Renovation of Tauride Garden’s greenhouses should be a unique example of the abandoned object revival in a new cultural and leisure space», Roman Golovanov, Investment Committee Chairman said. «St. Petersburg’s residents will benefit from the multifunctional, modern public space creation, full of flowering greenhouses, exhibitions and fairs, creative workshops and equipped with concerts hall and providing theater performances and films».

The dilapidated greenhouses in Tauride Garden were built in the late 1970s and for several decades have been closed to the public. Earlier, the Committee considered the proposal of «TatProekt» LLC (Ginza Project holding) as a private concession initiative.

The Investment Committee accepted requests for signing a concession agreement for the facility reconstruction and operation from May 25 to July 8. Finally, other investors submitted the requests for Tauride Garden’s greenhouses reconstruction and an open tender conducting operation was started.

The proposed concession agreement term is 49 years. The potential investor should create a socio-cultural facility with three greenhouses (at least 1000 square meters), exhibition and concert halls in Tauride Garden in the period up to 34 months, according to the tender documentation.

The new facility’s functions will be exhibition activities (including plants demonstration), films rental and screening, theater and opera performances organization and production, concerts and other stage performances, children's educational and entertainment sections, and other one on cultural events, recreation and entertainment organization.
