Voting for landscaping facilities has started: how Russians are changing their cities

From April 21 to June 12, Russians again have the opportunity to choose what their street, neighborhood or city will look like. The VI All-Russian vote for the choice of landscaping facilities has started. It is residents who choose which parks, squares, embankments or courtyards will be improved under the program "Creating a comfortable urban environment" of the national project "Infrastructure for Life". There are more and more participants every year. People see how their decisions affect the appearance of cities. In 2025, more than 16.6 million people from 1,700 municipalities voted. During the operation of the "Creating a comfortable Urban Environment" program, 80,578 territories have been transformed in Russia: 37,437 public spaces and 43,141 courtyards.

"The All-Russian online voting for landscaping facilities can rightfully be considered a unique nationwide tool that unites federal development institutions, municipal teams, the efforts of volunteers and residents. Over the past five years, we have seen a steady and continuous increase in citizen participation in urban transformation. If in 2021, at the start of the project, it was possible to collect 9.7 million votes, then in 2025 16.6 million were recorded. This dynamic clearly demonstrates the growing interest of Russians in landscaping programs and their desire to make a personal contribution to the development of their region, city, and locality. This year, 88 regions and the city of Baikonur will join the All-Russian voting. It should be noted that in 2025, residents of historical regions voted about 131 thousand votes for improvement projects," said Irek Fayzullin, Minister of Construction and Housing of the Russian Federation.

This year, the All-Russian vote will be held not only in the territories of municipalities with a population of over 20 thousand people, but also in municipalities where the main settlements are located. Their development is a priority of the Spatial Development Strategy of the Russian Federation for 2030-2036, as well as the national project "Infrastructure for Life".

Every year, volunteers help Russians during the voting period. They advise residents at information points, in public places and at events, talk about the goals of the program and the facilities presented.

According to the goals of the national project "Infrastructure for Life", by 2030, at least 30 thousand public spaces will be landscaped throughout the country. The main objective of the national project is to improve the quality of life of Russians by creating a comfortable and safe living environment. Special attention is paid to the arrangement of public spaces and the development of mechanisms for the integrated development of territories.
