Bridges and highways are the bright business cards of St. Petersburg at VDNH

Videos of the investment and construction committees are shown on the big screen of the St. Petersburg stand in the comfortable season – they tell about the history of creating large-scale urban facilities, about the development of territories and the urban environment of high level and quality. The most spectacular scenes of the video series are dedicated to the bridges and highways of St. Petersburg as a city of "open roads".

Among them is one of the leading infrastructure projects in Russia, the unique inner-city highway Western High-Speed Diameter (ZSD). There is also a question about this object in the family intellectual and entertainment quiz, which takes place at the stand every day of the season and gives visitors a chance to win souvenirs and gifts.

The ZSD is an example of the world's largest public–private partnership in the field of toll roads. The project has received many international and federal awards. The ZSD was recognized as the best object of St. Petersburg's transport infrastructure for two decades, becoming the winner of the 20th anniversary competition "Builder of the Year".

In 2023, the cable-stayed bridge over the Petrovsky Fairway was listed in the "White Book" of the World Club of Petersburgers for the development of architectural and artistic traditions of the Northern Capital. Thus, the ZSD has been recognized not only as an integral part of the transport infrastructure of St. Petersburg, but also as its landmark, which has formed new recognizable views thanks to bridges, overpasses, and tunnels that successfully fit into the urban environment.

Over the past year, more than 105 million transactions were recorded on the ZSD, which was a record figure for 12 years of operation of road sections.

The highway has become even more environmentally friendly and safer due to the replacement of more than 6,900 gas-discharge lamps with LED lighting devices as part of the project "Modernization of the outdoor lighting system of the ZSD". The innovative wastewater treatment solutions used at the ZSD are recognized as one of the best environmental projects in St. Petersburg.

In December 2023, a working movement was opened along the first launch complex of the ZSD transport interchange from Skipersky Protok Street.

The high-speed diameter of the Northern Capital continues to develop actively. Two more launch complexes of the Skipper interchange are under construction. The Vitebsk interchange will connect the ZSD and the future Latitudinal highway of high-speed traffic (SHMSD). The implementation of these projects will help relieve the central part of St. Petersburg‑To relieve traffic tensions on Vasilyevsky Island, in the northern and southern districts of St. Petersburg, and most importantly – to provide residents and guests of St. Petersburg with safe and comfortable trips with time savings.

The events within the framework of the St. Petersburg Comfortable Week are organized by four committees: on investments, on construction, on social policy, on interethnic relations and the implementation of migration policy.
