The architectural and urban planning appearance of the water sports facilities within the “Saint Petersburg Marina” resort has been approved.

The architectural and urban planning appearance of the sports and recreational complex of the Sailing Academy facilities as part of the St. Petersburg Marina resort in Gorskaya was approved.
"The construction of a tourism and sports and recreation cluster in Gorskaya is of particular importance not only for St. Petersburg, but for the whole country. On behalf of the President, a "St. Petersburg‑Petersburg Marina is an all-season resort on the Baltic Sea coast. There have never been projects of this scale in our city. “The appearance of all structures should be not only beautiful and modern, but also functional,” Governor Alexander Beglov noted.
    The complex includes three facilities:
    - A sports center with a temporary accommodation and residence area for athletes, which will serve as an architectural dominant feature. The sports center will include a training building with sports pools and learning spaces, as well as areas for athletes’ recreation and visitor reception, areas for organizing theoretical classes, food services, medical care, areas for the coaching staff, technical and administrative premises, and parking and storage spaces for vehicles.
    - Training and educational building No. 1 of the Academy of Sailing “Kiting and Windsurfing” will be used as a complex of utility, sports, and training facilities for athletes, including equipment storage rooms, changing rooms, utility blocks, training and sports areas, as well as athletes’ recreation and dining areas with panoramic views on the second floor. The building’s facade solutions are based on the principle of “nautical” architecture, using light-colored materials that are resistant to corrosion and temperature fluctuations.
    - A boathouse for storing and maintaining yachts and sports equipment.
The area where these facilities will be located borders the park zone to the north, east, and south. As part of the investment project to create the Saint Petersburg Marina seaside resort, the Sailing Academy will become the core of the year‑round cluster’s infrastructure and will help promote active leisure activities, which aligns with the objectives of the federal project “Five Seas and Lake Baikal” under the national project “Tourism and Hospitality”.
    For reference:
The project to create the year‑round seaside resort “Saint Petersburg Marina” in Gorskaya is being implemented on the instructions of the President of Russia and is a mega‑project under the “10 Priorities for the Socio‑Economic Development of Saint Petersburg” programme.
The resort in Gorskaya covers an area of 160 hectares on the shore of the Gulf of Finland, where it is planned to create a unique seaside resort by 2020, including a yacht club, a yachting school, a shipyard and various public spaces. The number of new jobs is at least 7,000. The total investment in the project is estimated at more than 250 billion rubles. It is expected that the project will attract more than 1.3 million tourists per year. The hotel capacity will be at least 6,700 rooms. The length of the coastline (beach) is 1.7 km.
