The ACADEMIA Boutique Hotel is nominated for the Golden Trezzini Award

For the first time in 2025, the organizing committee of the Golden Trezzini International Architectural and Design Award established the nomination "The best implemented project for the adaptation of a cultural Heritage Site." One of the contenders for the award in the debut nomination was the project of a St. Petersburg investor, the boutique hotel ACADEMIA SHUVALOFF Mansion.
The new nomination is designed to recognize the merits of investors in the revival of cultural heritage and its integration into modernity.
The ACADEMIA Mansion SHUVALOFF Boutique Hotel is one of the best examples of the preservation and restoration of historical sites in St. Petersburg. The high professionalism and unique technologies used by the investor made it possible to complete the restoration as soon as possible, recreate the architectural details of the 19th century and open a new point of attraction in the very center of the city in 2024 for citizens and guests.
The marble lobby of the hotel, the grand staircase and the office of Count Shuvalov, whose neoclassical interior is considered by experts to be one of the best works of architect Ivan Fomin, have gained a second life. The implemented project corresponds to the task of "Preserving historical heritage and supporting culture" of the program "10 priorities for the development of St. Petersburg".
The ACADEMIA boutique hotel chain is a partner of St. Petersburg in the implementation of investment projects to adapt cultural heritage sites for modern use as hotels with the necessary infrastructure. The corresponding agreement was signed within the framework of SPIEF 2025.
Also, such realized St. Petersburg projects as the 6/3 Hotel, the Nikolaevskoye Cavalry School for accommodating a 1,000–seat school, the Anglican Church of Jesus Christ, an adaptation for a concert hall, and the Blacksmith Shop of the State Mechanical Plant named after him, apply for the award for the preservation and adaptation for modern use of cultural heritage objects. The winners of the award will be announced on November 21 during a ceremony at the State Hermitage Museum.

The Golden Trezzini International Architectural and Design Award was founded in 2018 and is named after architect Domenico Trezzini, the first architect of St. Petersburg, the creator of the Peter and Paul Cathedral, the building of the Twelve Colleges and other masterpieces.
The Golden Trezzini is the official award of the World Club of Petersburgers, which evaluates new architectural, restoration and design projects as works of art. The international council and the jury of the award include hundreds of experts, including the world's leading architects, major figures of culture and art, as well as government representatives from Russia and 35 countries. In addition to the gilded statuettes by Domenico Trezzini, special awards are presented at the awards, including the medal of the World Club of Petersburgers and audience awards.
Mikhail Piotrovsky, President of the World Petersburg Club and Director General of the State Hermitage Museum, is the Honorary Chairman of the International Award Council.
