The Slavyanka tram line has transported more than three million passengers.

This week, the passenger count sensors in the cars of the Slavyanka tram line recorded 3.7 million — that’s how many people the tram on route No. 2 carried since the line was launched in December 2025.
“In less than a year of operation, the Slavyanka tram line has become a truly necessary and in‑demand route. The numbers speak for themselves. People need modern, fast, and comfortable transport.” Further development of the project within the framework of the urban development priority “Convenient public transport” will give a new impetus to the Slavyanka microdistrict and the surrounding areas,” Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov emphasized.
In October, the passenger traffic control services of the Slavyanka line noted a 10 % increase in passenger activity compared to the previous quarter. This indicates growing demand for the route among residents of the Shushary settlement after the start of the school year and the end of the summer season. According to the results of the 3rd quarter of 2026, the average daily passenger traffic increased by 12% and now exceeds 13,000 passengers per day.
It should be recalled that starting from September 1, the service interval during peak hours on the line has been reduced to 7 minutes, and during off‑peak hours it is 9–12 minutes.
Currently, construction work is being completed at the second stage of the line — from the depot on Novgorodsky Prospekt to Kolpinskoye Highway in the Slavyanka microdistrict. The construction readiness is 99%. On the final section, at the intersection of Podbelskogo Highway and Toropetskaya Street, the installation of the contact network is nearing completion. Work is also underway to asphalt technological driveways, fill in lawns, and restore the landscaping in various sections of the route. The commissioning of the 11‑km tram line of the second stage is scheduled for the end of October 2026.
