SPIEF 2026: The investor will create a new trolleybus fleet in St. Petersburg

On June 4, 2026, as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, an agreement of intent was signed between St. Petersburg and Movista Group LLC to implement an investment project in St. Petersburg to create a trolleybus fleet.
The agreement was signed by Nikolay Linchenko, Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg, and Alexey Zotov, General Director of Movista Group LLC.
The investment project involves the creation of a trolleybus fleet on the territory of the Tramway Park No. 3, on 77 Sredny Prospekt Vasilyevsky Island, with the renewal of rolling stock.
"The creation of a modern trolleybus fleet and the renewal of rolling stock are important elements of the "Convenient Public Transport" strategy of the "10 Priorities of St. Petersburg's Socio-Economic Development" program. The project will optimize routes in the historical part of the city, reduce the negative impact on the environment through the use of innovative technologies, and make trips more convenient for residents," said Nikolay Linchenko.
The trolleybus fleet will service and put on line about 80 trolleybus units with increased autonomous travel and dynamic charging. The fleet's rolling stock is expected to transport passengers along four routes in the central districts of the city with a total length of 62 km.
"St. Petersburg is one of the key centers for the development of urban electric transport in Russia. It is important for us that the city consistently relies on modern eco-friendly transport and infrastructure development. The project of a new trolleybus fleet is not only the renewal of rolling stock, but also the creation of a sustainable transport system for the central districts of St. Petersburg. We consider this project as part of the long—term development of urban mobility and are ready to apply our accumulated experience in implementing large-scale transport projects in Russian regions," said Alexey Zotov.
Movista Group LLC is a strategic partner of Transmashholding JSC and the largest investor in the development of urban public transport in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
